The West African Examinations Council has donated two (2) motorbikes to the Accra Central Divisional Command of the Ghana Police Service at a short ceremony at the WAEC Head Office, Ridge in Accra. The donation was in response to a request by the Division for WAEC to support them with a motorbike to enable the Command to patrol its jurisdiction, especially during the night.
At the presentation, the Director of Administration, WAEC, Mr. S. B. Donkor acknowledged that security is a shared responsibility and that corporate institutions should partner with the security agencies to ensure maintenance of law and order.
He expressed the hope that the motorbikes will go a long way to enhance the operations of the Divisional Command. In her response to the kind gesture from WAEC, the Divisional Commander, Superintendent Florence Owusu thanked the Council for its support and promised that the motorbikes will be put to good use to help protect life and property. She urged other organisations to support the Ghana Police Service to carry out its mandate.
